Clinical Research Center - Clinical Research Assistant

Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience (HPN) is seeking Clinical Research Assistant at Clinical Research Center. Your responsibilities will be to perform clinical research in conjunction with multiple clinical research protocols and will be supervised by the Principal investigator. You will play an important role as you will have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and educating them on the study. This position requires an extremely detail-oriented, well-organized individual who can multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Include:

Reviewing patient records to determine patient eligibility for participating in research protocol. Analyzing appropriate data for recruitment purposes and interview patients for protocol to determine patient commitment. Responsible for completing all data entry requirements accurately including data entry of patient registration; entry of test order from requisition or pulling order from database; managing Standing Orders. Collecting, organizing, cataloging, disseminating, and maintaining appropriate files of current patient data. Assisting with monitoring audits/visits for clinical protocols. Processing specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order. Performing clerical duties when assigned such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answer phones when needed. Maintaining all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs. Completing training courses and keeping up to date with the certifications. Assisting with regulatory, research or administrative compliance. Assisting with preparation and delivery of required reports and other research documentation. Having strong written and oral communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Working under minimal supervision and being goal oriented.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in scientific or healthcare field, 5 years of relevant experience with associate degree in scientific or healthcare field may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree. completed fellowship or can demonstrate expertise in management of headache and facial pain conditions, including Botox and other procedures in the outpatient setting to direct Headache and Facial Pain Center.  Demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other departments and disciplines.  Experience in clinical trials is a plus but not required and we will mentor and train.
Responsibilities include comprehensive clinical care of a wide spectrum of movement disorders, performing chemodenervation for movement disorders and spasticity, evaluating patients for deep brain stimulation (DBS), initial and subsequent DBS programming.  Ability and passion to step into leadership roles to create and direct a first of its kind Movement Disorder Center of Excellence for Hawaii with vision for interdisciplinary clinical and research programs in brain electrophysiology, neuroimaging, neurogenetics, cognitive neurology, autonomic disorders, sleep neurology, gait and balance disorders, and human motor control. Experience in clinical trials is a plus but not required and we will mentor and train.
applicants should also have behavioral neurology fellowship training to direct Memory Disorder Center. The Memory Disorders Center has a large research footprint with current active phase I, II, III and IV clinical trials including those funded by NIH. Candidate to direct the established memory disorders research program and provide out-patient care of memory disorders patients.  The successful candidate will be encouraged to interact with the wide range of clinical, translational, and basic science programs in Hawaii and to enhance our nationally recognized research programs. Experience in clinical trials is a plus but not required and we will mentor and train.
completed fellowship or can demonstrate expertise in management of epilepsy to direct Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. Oversight of 4 beds EMU, EEG program and supervision and teaching of 6 dedicated EEG techs.  Demonstrate excellent clinical skills for oversight of outpatient epilepsy clinic and support a robust epilepsy research programs with active phase I, II and III clinical trials. Experience in clinical trials is a plus but not required and we will mentor and train.
completed fellowship or can demonstrate expertise in management of MS and related disorders to direct Comprehensive MS Center. Candidate to coordinate a full array of medical, nursing, mental health, rehabilitation, and social services and have a strong collaborative relationship with the National MS Society. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team take a proactive and comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and management of this often-complex disease tailored to each person’s type of MS, and may include cutting-edge or experimental therapies in addition to established treatments approved by the FDA.  Interest or experience in clinical trials is a plus but not required and we will train and mentor.
completed fellowship or can demonstrate expertise in management to direct Neuromuscular Center. This position would entail caring for individuals with neuromuscular diseases in the Neuromuscular, MDA clinic and performing EMGs. The team is seeking individuals who are willing to work as a team member in their multi-disciplinary clinic to provide excellence in care and advance the field of neuromuscular disease both in utilizing new and future treatment modalities.  Interest or experience in clinical trials is a plus but not required and we will train and mentor.

General Neurologist to join our exciting and growing program.   The ideal candidate should have demonstrated superior skills in multiple aspects of general neurology, have established or seek to establish an active clinical practice, be involved in the instruction of residents and medical students, and be interested in participating in clinical studies. Proficient skills in EEG, EMG or experience with clinical research is a plus but not required and we will mentor and train.
