A University of Hawai‘i professor and Hawaii neurologist has been asked to serve on the Advisory Council of the International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART), the professional society of the Alzheimer’s Association. The appointment brings a voice from Hawaii and the Pacific Islands to an international body dedicated to accelerating progress in Alzheimer’s and dementia research worldwide.

ISTAART is a diverse, global network of Alzheimer’s and dementia scientists, clinicians, and professionals united by common goals: the pursuit of knowledge, collaboration, and breakthroughs that lead to more effective ways to detect, treat, and ultimately prevent Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
