Neurosurgery is a collaborative discipline involved in treating the disease of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience (HPN) is partnering with Hawaii Brain and Spine to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients needing neurosurgery workup and surgical treatment. With in-house neurology, neuropsychology, and neurosurgery, providers can discuss their mutual patients’ issues to reduce the communication turn around time often encountered in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disease. This is especially relevant for patients coming from outer-islands who have little time to travel between several different physicians’ offices to arrive at a diagnosis and plan for treatment. Consultations and nerve conduction studies are easily available with HPN neurologists. Imaging facilities are also conveniently located near the Hawaii Pacific Neuroscience offices at the St. Francis Medical Complex in Honolulu and at Castle Medical Center in Kailua. Interventional pain management is in close proximity to both office sites as well. If needed, Dr. Beringer can perform surgery at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu or at Castle Medical Center for the convenience of patients and their families.
